The brief was to create a brand refresh for a local Thai restaurant, updating the visual identity while maintaining the core character of the existing brand. The client wanted the design to feel more contemporary and refined, helping the restaurant stay relevant and appealing to new customers, but without losing the recognisable elements that long-standing customers associate with the business. The challenge was therefore to strike a balance between modernisation and continuity, evolving the brand in a way that respects its established identity and heritage.
The concept focused on harnessing the curls and decorative elements of the original logo, exploring how these shapes could be simplified and modernised. I presented several options that isolated different aspects of the original design, allowing the client to see how the identity could evolve while staying true to its roots. The chosen approach retains the familiar colours but refreshes the palette to feel brighter and more reflective of the vibrancy of the food, creating a contemporary look that honours the restaurant’s original character.
